M1 Carbine Silhouette and CMP (9:00am)

Free – $10M1 Carbine Silhouette Matches will use the pistol caliber lever action targets and distances (Chickens 40yd, Pigs 50yd, Turkeys 75yd, Rams 100yd. Shooters will have 15 shots at 10 targets of each animal. Rifles must be vintage M1 Carbines or replicas. These will be 60 shot matches at 40 targets with sight in prior to start of match.
CMP rules require that the carbine be in “as issued by the U.S. Armed Forces” condition with standard stock and sights. Trigger pull may not be less than 4 1/2 pounds. No increased weight in the carbine is allowed. Only standard issue 15 round magazines are allowed. Glass bedding, laminated and synthetic stocks are not allowed. The course of fire is conducted at 100 yards on the SR-1 high power rifle target. Shooting involves 10 rounds slow fire in both prone and standing positions and 10 rounds rapid fire in prone and either sitting or kneeling. This means that your ammo requirements are 40 rounds for record plus no more than 10 rounds for sighting in.
500 YD RANGE IS NOW OPEN:
Beginning Sunday May 28, the 500 yard range will be open to the public from 10:00 – 6:00 pm on the 4th Sunday each month. Shooters must use hollow point, soft point or cast lead bullets only. No FMJ, Steel Jackets or Tracers allowed. Target distances are 200, 300, 385 and 500 meters.
